Dell Alienware AW2725Q 27" Review: Most Affordable 4K 240Hz QD-OLED

Maybe it is me, but having to pay so much for a monitor where you need to take steps to prevent burn in, and always having that concern about burn in, just don't make sense to me. It looks great, but there's a significant cost trade off here. Burn in risks have been reduced over time, but I think we will never get to the point of not having to worry about burn ins when using this sort of monitors in work related use case. I don't buy a monitor only for games, so it will be used for games, videos and work.

A good 4K monitor should be 32", not 27", it's a waste for such high resolution. And $900 isn't really cheap.

If it is between gaming and productivity, then nothing beats DELL U4025QW today, it is the only product on the market that boasts 5K resolution + 120Hz refresh rate, in an Ultra-Wide 40" form-factor. This is the one that TechSpot should be reviewing ;)

What the hell is the point of a 4K 27" monitor that has to use 150% scaling giving you basically the same real estate as a QHD 27" any way. Oh wait, your text will look a bit sharper LOL

BTW Vitaly, LG has a 5Kx2K OLED in 45" size now and I'll bet by year's end Dell will announce 4027QD as OLED too.

I just got a 4K 32" monitor to tide me over for another 2-4 years before jumping to OLED 5K 40" when burn-in will be no longer an issue. Newer tech already out and coming soon, will greatly improve longevity, and power usage.

Yep.OLED makes zero sense for people that have a life and don't just play games. Stupidly expensive and warranty is pitiful. Until warranty against burn-in is at least 7 years hard pass at these stupid prices.

I agree with a lot of the sentiments here.
A 4k screen should be at least 32".
27" is for 1440p and burn in should not be a thing in 2025.

If I was to spend almost $1000 for a monitor, I would expect no issues for at least 7 years.

Too early for OLED. But I digress, I am sure there are people hopping all over these new OLED's just to have the latest and greatest.

I saw an MSI 4k display with similar features for 850 on Newegg.
I would rather pick that one, especially since it is also a 32' display

Imagine you use it for 1-2 hour per day. The rest of the time it would stay off.
3 years? It will last 6. The biggest mistake people make when they discuss longevity of OLED displays is not understanding that people use monitors very differently.
3 year warranty is more than enough for a lot of people. At the same time, if someone planed to use one for 4-6 hours per day, I would not expect it to last forever.
Same goes for use with static objects on screen.
No, I am confident, current OLED monitors already have reasonable durability for many users. We just need to be able to acknowledge where the line is.
